The Defender 110 is the epitome of the 4X4 legacy of the Landrover brand. Its not for nothing that its called the best 4X4XFAR. It has defined what its meant to have an all terrain vehicle . It heavy use by the British Military has only cemented its reputation as a bullet proof , go anywhere vehicle.
At Calder we took over one such restoration project for one of our esteemed client and below is a blog on how we are progressing on the project
The vehicle came completely disassembled and it wasn’t the easiest job to know how to proceed
It took us a solid 4-5 months to get the chassis and structure work done. The chassis was sent for sand blasting as galvanizing. We also applied our Chamaleon Truck liner on the whole chassis strut in order to provide a lasting anti rust protection
The Mating of the chassis to the body is something to behold and we experienced what it must have been in the original Landrover factory.
Following the mounting of the body to the chassis , further bodywork carried on and prep work done to enter our spray booth
The special camel trophy paint has been applied to the body using our Chamaleon clear-coat and other products
Currently this beauty is in the final stages and hopefully another few weeks and all paint works would be completed .
